Other Half Brewing Company (OHB) is opening a second location in Canandaigua, NY! We are hiring for a dynamic back of the house team to support the opening of our new taproom restaurant!
The Line Cook will be responsible for preparation of dishes in accordance with proper recipe and company guidelines.
Essential Functions:
Food Production
Maintain food quality and nutritional standards
Perform technical culinary food production, portion control, and service standards
Follow production schedule
Food preparation of meats/poultry/game/fish, vegetables, and fruits
Lifting and moving equipment to and from work stations, stove, and refrigerator
Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at work station to ensure a smooth service period
Follows proper plate presentation and garnish setup for all dishes
Food Safety knowledge and certification
Maintain food storage and handling procedures
Maintain a clean and sanitary work station and equipment
Maintain cooking temperature, product cooling, and labeling
Properly store, rotate, and manage all food products following local, state, federal, and company guidelines and procedures
Qualifications:
Professional cooking experience in a full-service dining restaurant preferred
Comprehend cooking methods: braising, poaching, roasting, steaming, sauté, grilling, blanching
A high school degree or GED is preferred
Food Handlers License is preferred
Willingness to work nights and weekends
Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced restaurant setting
Ability to follow instructions with an upbeat attitude
Strong teamwork skills
The base pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00 per hour. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid within the range depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, etc.
