Job Summary: The Research Support Specialist will be performing ocular research into the mechanisms of glaucoma using in vitro and in vivo glaucoma models. In conjunction with the Principal Investigator (PI) and other lab members, develop strategies and provide support to research projects investigating (1) the mechanics of disease in glaucoma and (2) retinal ganglion cell regeneration. Use molecular biology and biochemistry approaches (qPCR, immunoblotting, transfection studies, CHIP assay) to achieve project goals, developing modifications and validating technologies as needed. Support the preparation and submission of publications and grant applications.Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelors Degree in biological science or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
