The Domestic Violence program at Unity House is in search of a highly passionate and motivated individual to fill this unique Animal Welfare Coordinator Position. $750 sign on bonus Responsibilities: Focus on animal abuse, housing and education as it relates to domestic violence. Provide victim-centered and trauma-informed case management services for transitional housing clients. Secure safe, sustainable housing for victims with animal companions. Provide advocacy and referrals when needed. Regular positive engagement with external providers, property owners and community resources. Focus on the development, revitalization of new and existing curriculum development. Facilitation of educational trainings for professionals and consumers on Rensselaer County wide animal welfare as it pertains to domestic violence. Engage in coordinating events, groups and trainings in and outside of standard business hours. Promote a culture of inclusion and belonging. Requirements: Must enjoy working with animals and people. College degree preferred. At least one-year experience working with victims of domestic violence and with animals preferred. Must have reliable transportation. Valid and current NYS driver's license.
