DescriptionSummary Provide Training support on PowerSecure Microgrid equipment including switchgear and generators. Dedicated to being customer focused by meeting the required expectations, maintaining high decision quality by using work experience, systematic analysis, and engineering support to make valuable and safe decisions, while excelling at problem solving by using logic and time proven methods to effectively resolve any problem.Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering, or equivalent work experience in the Switchgear and/or Power Generation Industry.

10+ years of commercial/industrial experience working on Generators, ATS/switchgear, and Paralleling Control systems.

Experience in reading and understanding Electrical and Mechanical Schematics and Engineer of Record Drawings.

Experience in areas: Programming Logic Controllers (PLC), Generator controllers, Protective relay’s, Alternators and Generators.

Commissioning and field experience are recommended.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Valid Driver’s License

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to understand and develop and/or make edits to Switchgear and/or PowerGen controllers and devices.

Ability to understand operational theory of Switchgear and/or PowerGen Products.

Ability to troubleshooting Switchgear and/or PowerGen equipment and systems.

Ability to understand and follow project scopes.

Ability to define and create training curriculum and presentations.

Working knowledge of PowerSecure Microgrid Solution Products.

Strong written and verbal English skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, Outlook email/calendars

Proficient understanding of AC/DC Electrical Theory.

Possess good analytical and problem-solving skills along with failure analysis and corrective action implementations.

Possess excellent time management skills. Must be able to take initiative to meet deadlines and the ability to prioritize workload with minimal supervision.

NFPA 70 ARC Flash Certified preferred.

Communicate clearly and professionally with varying levels of coworkers/customers via phone/email and in person.

Essential Functions

Duties include but are not limited to:

Deliver training as a trainer or assistant trainer for classes on developed course curriculum.

Develop new courses will need developed with a presentation, presentation notes, and hands on lab exercises throughout the course, quizzes throughout course, and a final course exam. This curriculum could be delivered via a standard classroom and lab venue, mobile training classroom and lab, or LMS online class depending on the material nature, content, and training aids needed.

Design and build training aids to duplicate or simulate real equipment in the field for use during training classes.

Conduct training and develop training curriculum for PowerSecure Microgrid Products.

Resourced for field or shop “ride-along” sessions to allow quality time with Engineers to promote further on-the-job training opportunities, ensure initial policy & procedure training was properly learned, promote ongoing tooling and safety training, foster relationships to develop mutual trust and respect, etc.

Aid on complex start-ups. Field troubleshooting, technical support via phone assistance and occasionally onsite.

Effectively communicate open action items to proper initiatives for action planning and task assigning.

Assist in the development and execution of field retrofit projects.

Assist in the development and execution of engineering change notices.

Assist in the development of product technical troubleshooting guidelines and procedures.

Escalate issues to leadership that threaten the quality or schedule of projects in a timely manner to assure customer satisfaction while not taking on exorbitant costs.

Additional Skills

Ability to troubleshoot and provide technical assistance on PowerGen Products such as Volvo or PSI

Ability to troubleshoot and provide technical assistance on Switchgear Products such as Square D, Eaton, ABB, and Siemens circuit breakers, and Low-voltage and Medium Voltage switchgear.

Ability to troubleshoot and provide technical assistance on programming devices such as Woodward controllers, DIEF Controllers, SEL Protective Relays, Beckwith Protective Relays, and Siemens/GE PLC’s.

Physical DemandsTravel will occasionally be required. Up to 45%. Occasional exposure to and requirement to work on around industrial equipment including switchgear/switchboards, Diesel and Gas generators, outdoors, around metal welding, forming, cutting and other industrial processes. Work both in an outdoor and indoor office settings. Able to withstand outdoor temperatures with reasonable accommodations. Able to work at a desk in an office setting for 8 hours a day. Manual dexterity to operate digital equipment, including computers and PLC’s, protective relays, controllers and other such equipment with small fine buttons and operators. Occasional after hours and weekend support is needed. Work Environment Normal work environment will be in a remote office.
