Piccolo Wine Room has a unique and great opportunity for a Line Cook.
Schedule is Wednesday through Saturday nights (kitchen is open 5 – 9 pm.)
25-30 hours /week. 3:00 – 9:30
Responsibilites:
Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, making burgers or preparing sauces)
Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
Answer, report and follow Chef’s instructions
Clean up station and take care of leftover food
Stock inventory appropriately
Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Dishwasher
Requirements:
- Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
- Familiar with industry’s best practices
- Great positive attitude and energy
- Must be able to manage time wisely
- Motivated to work quickly and efficiently and possess integrity
- Attend to detail and presentation of each order
- Clean as you go work ethic, the kitchen must be efficient at all times
- Adhere to proper food handling, sanitation and safety procedures
- Maintain appropriate dating, labeling and rotation of all food items
- Store leftovers according to established standards
