Founded in 1837, Cuyahoga County’s safety-net health system operates four hospitals, four emergency departments and more than 20 health centers.Summary:In collaboration with the multidisciplinary teams, performs tasks to ensure that patients have financial clearance for patient transportation for the date of service, including but not limited to monthly reconciliations, insurance verifications, pre-certifications and authorizations for services, and patient estimates. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer services standards of the MetroHealth System.Qualifications:Required:

Associate degree in Accounting, Business, Healthcare, or other related field, or previous experience in patient transportation, or 1 year of experience in role-related field.

Knowledge of general medical terminology.

Knowledge of software programs, including the Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.).

Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.

Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Healthcare, or other related field.

Knowledge of third-party payer information systems and portals.Physical Requirements:

May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.

May need to sit or stand for extended periods.

See in the normal visual range with or without correction.

Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.

Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required.

May need to lift to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion.

Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.

Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY This position will supervise the activities of the Standard Parking maintenance staff (non-Case employees) to ensure they meet the parking maintenance contract specifications. QUALIFICATIONS Experience: 5 years of parking maintenance experience, contract coordination and general maintenance experience. Education: High school education REQUIRED SKILLS Must have, or be prepared, to receive basic AHERA safety training. Experienced in properly using basic hand tools, power tools, and safety equipment. Valid Ohio drivers license, free from significant violations. Ability to be contacted by telephone and respond to emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week within a half hour of the emergency arising. Ability to frequently lift up to 100 pounds. Ability to operate heavy equipment such as, but not limited to, street sweeper, tractor, bobcat, snowplow. Customer service oriented with regard to all faculty, students, other staff, and visitors of the university. Work well independently or as a team. Technical proficiency in maintaining mechanical equipment and indoor/outdoor lighting fixtures.
