Facility:Dayton Children\'s - Main CampusDepartment:Emergency Department - Main CampusSchedule:Full timeHours:36Job Details:The Clinical Team Leader identifies the procedures, processes, and patient care to be accomplished during the work period, as well as the resources that will be required to safely carry out the work of the unit in collaboration with the unit and organizational leadership teams. The Clinical Team Leader distributes the work of the unit in a manner that makes the best use of available resources, both personnel and material, and which take into account the knowledge, skills, and abilities of those persons who will be integral to the patient care process. The Clinical Team Leader provides ongoing coordination of work and resources as necessary to meet changing requirements in the work environment. On an ongoing basis, the Clinical Team Leader evaluates individual and collective outcomes of the patient care provided during their shift, compares patient care delivery to accepted standards, adjusts assignment of resources as necessary, and reports changing needs and outcomes to the health care staff. Because the Clinical Team Leader observes patient care delivery and outcomes as provided by coworkers, the Clinical Team Leader may be asked to contribute observations to individual employee evaluations, suggest competency evaluations, or to advise and educate fellow staff. These functions of the Clinical Team Leader should not, however, be constructed as supervisory in the sense of exercising control regarding employment decisions. The Clinical Team Leader is accountable for overall operation of an assigned unit during a specific time period but is not solely or personally responsible for the selection or discharge of employees of the health care facility. The Clinical Team Leader also serves as a Safety Coach on the unit promoting utilization of Hospital Acquired Condition Prevention and other Safety promotion behaviors.

The armed security officer provides enforcement of hospital’s security rules and regulations uniformly among patients, visitors, and hospital employees. This enforcement will be exercised in a low key, professional manner consistent with the overall hospital’s mission and values of providing health care to the children of the community. Responsible for complying with an effective hospital wide program for the surveillance, prevention, and control of infection. Responsible for complying with a safety management program designed to provide a physical environment free of hazards and to reduce the risk of human injury. This position will collaborate interdepartmentally with all divisions of the hospital. This position will provide patient transport. This position will maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to insure by the hospital’s insurance carrier.

Provides specialized expertise in one or more areas of chemistry, hematology, serology, microbiology, virology, molecular diagnostics or transfusion medicine. Ensures sample suitability and stability and may include sample collection. Professional application of the principles, theories, and techniques of Clinical Laboratory Science to produce timely and accurate results as well as evaluate, judge and interpret results. Accepts and processes samples for on-site testing or forwards samples to references laboratories. Maintains and ensures functionality of laboratory equipment and instruments. Ensures all quality control and quality assurance aspects of testing are maintained. Ensures laboratory is prepared for unannounced inspections from regulatory agencies. Is able to use all Laboratory test ordering systems, reference procedures, and other areas responsible for the functionality of off-site labs.

The Runner must follow personal protective equipment precautions before entering a patient room. Duties also include cleaning and assisting the Cook as needed. This position involves a considerable amount of walking.
