Provides specialized expertise in one or more areas of chemistry, hematology, serology, microbiology, virology, molecular diagnostics or transfusion medicine. Ensures sample suitability and stability and may include sample collection. Professional application of the principles, theories, and techniques of Clinical Laboratory Science to produce timely and accurate results as well as evaluate, judge and interpret results. Accepts and processes samples for on-site testing or forwards samples to references laboratories. Maintains and ensures functionality of laboratory equipment and instruments. Ensures all quality control and quality assurance aspects of testing are maintained. Ensures laboratory is prepared for unannounced inspections from regulatory agencies. Is able to use all Laboratory test ordering systems, reference procedures, and other areas responsible for the functionality of off-site labs.

The Runner works as a team with other Dietetics & Nutrition staff to ensure that the patient\'s Room Service experience is a positive one. The Runner is responsible for verifying that the meal is complete, in accordance with the diet order and delivered to the correct patient. The Runner must follow personal protective equipment precautions before entering a patient room. Duties also include cleaning and assisting the Cook as needed. This position involves a considerable amount of walking.

The armed security officer provides enforcement of hospital’s security rules and regulations uniformly among patients, visitors, and hospital employees. This enforcement will be exercised in a low key, professional manner consistent with the overall hospital’s mission and values of providing health care to the children of the community. Responsible for complying with an effective hospital wide program for the surveillance, prevention, and control of infection. Responsible for complying with a safety management program designed to provide a physical environment free of hazards and to reduce the risk of human injury. This position will collaborate interdepartmentally with all divisions of the hospital. This position will provide patient transport. This position will maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to insure by the hospital’s insurance carrier.
