Immersion Brewing, Bend Oregon
Immersion Brewing is a 5 year old brewpub located in beautifulCentral Oregon. We have a 2 vessel 10bbl JVNW brew house with the capability of brewing 1200 barrels per year. We aresearching for an experienced brewer to take over all brewpub production and packaging. Our current brewer is going to explore the world of coffee roasting.
Before applying please have a defined plan for living arrangements in Central Oregon. Finding housing is a huge challenge and can derail any application. Please consider this situation before submitting your application.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Brewing
Brew year-round beers and seasonal offerings. Averaging 10+ beer styles on tap
Design and brew new specialty offerings. You must be excited about creating new beers, most of our lineup is one-offs and seasonal beers
Prepare beer for serving; temperature control, fining, carbonation, and racking of beer, etc.
Packaging beer for draft sales. We self-distribute to about 30 bars in Central Oregon
Packaging beer for can sales. We can about 30bbl per quarter, but that will increase
We have a small barrel-age beer program that we will be expanding. Brewer will be in charge of recipe development, blending, and packaging
Operations
Responsible for maintenance of all brewing equipment. Addressing mechanical problems quickly, arranging contractors, buying supplies, performing repairs
Maintain a safe brewhouse, and work with other staff to keep everyone safe.
Ordering of all brewing supplies, negotiating with grain, hop, and chemical suppliers
Manage production schedule and forecasting beer production
Qualifications:
2-3 years professional brewing experience as a head brewer at a brewpub or production brewery
Physical requirements:
Lift 55 pounds from ground to shoulder height
Work on ladders.
Work in confined or awkward spaces
Management and Administrative Duties
Write and manage beer descriptions for brewpub staff
Hire, train, and manage brewery staff. We will need an assistant brewer in the next year.
Write and manage SOPs
Manage inventory
Maintain brewery and production records. Keep the brewery compliant with OLCC and TTB
