West Coast Sailing is a small business with $5M-6M annual turnover. We sell small sailboats, kayaks, and sailing parts and accessories. We have passionate customers and our mission is to help them spend time on the water! Our close-knit team works hard to accomplish that mission.
This is a part-time position in our office in North Portland. Our business is seasonal, with the highest transaction volume in the spring and summer. This position is 24-30 hours per week and there is some flexibility to create a schedule on the weekdays that work for you.
This position is an excellent match if you thrive with solo responsibility for much of your work. You will be part of a larger team and have access to our parent company’s finance team for collaboration and learning.
Job Responsibilities Include:
- A/P: Complete A/P process for inventory and expense invoices, manage a number of company credit cards, track payment schedules for boat orders and large purchases, communicate with vendors
- A/R: Post cash from multiple bank accounts, merchant accounts, and PayPal to appropriate customer accounts, manage customers with payment terms, help sales and customer support staff with transactions
- Process journal entries
- Process payroll using ADP
- Collaborate with parent company Controller on reporting, intercompany transactions, and employee benefits
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of bookkeeping experience
- Strong proficiency with ERP software (our ERP is Acumatica)
- Strong proficiency with Excel
- A passion and proven ability for accurate data entry
