Responsibilities:
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and educational activities
- Provide support to students with special needs, including those with autism or behavioral challenges
- Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Assist with classroom management and behavior management strategies
- Support students in their academic and social development
- Collaborate with the lead teacher to assess student progress and provide feedback to parents/guardians
- Assist with preparing materials and resources for lessons and activities
- Supervise students during recess, lunchtime, and other non-instructional periods
Experience:
- Previous experience working with children, preferably in a daycare or early childhood education setting
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and literacy education strategies
- Experience working with students with special needs, including those on the autism spectrum
- Familiarity with math concepts and the ability to assist students in math-related activities
- Understanding of classroom dynamics and the ability to work collaboratively with a lead teacher
- Strong behavior management skills and the ability to implement strategies to support positive student behavior
