Powell’s Books, the largest independent bookseller in the world, is seeking a number of Lead Generalists for the future Powell’s Books Kiosk at the beautiful Portland International Airport. The Kiosk is slated to open in late summer.
Candidates should have an interest in, and an aptitude for, upholding the highest customer service standards, and model engaged and knowledgeable interactions with customers. Lead Generalists resourcefully problem-solve, take an active role in employee training, and are an excellent resource to coworkers. The role works closely with the Store Manager, and is well suited to demonstrate and develop leadership skills.
There will also be opportunities for successful Lead candidates to work as Heads of Staff. Heads of Staff play an important leadership role in the store by providing additional operational support throughout the day. This support is key to keeping the store humming smoothly and with these added responsibilities, the company pays an additional $1.25 per hour for all 37.5 hours worked.
The schedules are still to-be-determined, and will include opening or closing shifts and at least one weekend day. Hours of Kiosk operation are seven days a week from 6am to 7pm. When you apply, please specify your availability.
The starting wage for these positions is $18.75 per hour.
