I just started working for a small, high-end design/build remodeling company serving the Portland area. I'll be in charge of a team of one or two guys, doing everything from building decks to installing siding to custom kitchens to built-ins. I'm looking for a right hand person to assist me. Lots of the work is custom, so there'll be all sorts of puzzles to solve.
I'm looking for someone with general carpentry skills, the more high-end oriented the better. Cabinetry, trim, moulding, experience with stain-grade wood, etc. are all a big plus. Beyond that, I'm looking for someone with a positive attitude, drive, with high attention to detail but a mind for doing things efficiently.
We'll be working in the Portland area. The job is full-time, 40 hrs a week, with no expectation of overtime. Work weeks are M-Th, 8-6, with Fri/Sat/Sun off. I haven't been here long, but so far the company culture has been amazing. Everyone has been positive and supportive, everything is designed in-house, management has been very transparent, and the guys in charge are very "boots on the ground," so they understand that quality takes time, mistakes happen, etc.
