Brief Description:

The TA Head, Oncology, Global Medical Affairs (GMA), will lead the therapeutic area of Oncology for Jazz Medical Affairs globally. S/he/they will play a critical role on Jazz's Global Medical Affairs Leadership Team and report directly to the Head of Global Medical Affairs. S/he/they will provide pivotal leadership and direction in the development and execution of an integrated global medical affairs strategy, including evidence generation and medical plans for Jazz' Oncology assets. The TA Head, Oncology, GMA will collaborate with cross-functional, matrix and regional teams in setting the strategic plan for both pipeline and inline products. Serving as the internal subject matter expert, the TA Head, Oncology, GMA will be the voice of Medical in the Global Product Team, Clinical Development and Functional Matrix Teams to support franchise related decisions and provide a holistic medical perspective across the disease area. S/he/they will be accountable for defining and executing evidence generation objectives and study prioritization aligned to the global molecule strategy including ISTs, database mining, real world evidence and Ph IV studies. S/he/they must embody strong interpersonal and relationship building skills as they will be accountable for maintaining relationships with global experts and for representing Oncology franchise in medical activities at medical and scientific conferences. In addition, s/he/they will collaborate closely with our US and EU/International Medical Affairs teams to ensure aligned strategies and efficient execution of medical affairs projects, outreach to external experts and to provide relevant medical insights and guidance to our R&D organization.

Essential Functions/ResponsibilitiesLead and develop a high performing GMA Oncology team.Hire and staff team to address GMA Oncology needs.Train and mentor new employees to ensure successful onboarding. Coach and develop existing employees including the completion of timely performance evaluations.Ensure appropriate budget setting, resource allocation and expense monitoring.Responsible for the development and execution of integrated GMA Oncology strategies and plans in alignment with the Oncology franchise objectives.Represents the voice of Medical in Global Product Teams (GPTs) Global Development teams and Functional Matrix Teams (FMTs) to support franchise related decisions and to provide a holistic medical perspective across oncology disease areas.Accountable for developing and executing Integrated Evidence Generation Plans (IEGPs) for all Oncology assets in late clinical development or on market, covering global medical data generation objectives and study prioritization aligned to global molecule strategy including ISTs, Database mining, Real World Evidence, Phase IV studies. Collaborate with Clinical Development to ensure that Collaborative Clinical Research Projects are integrated into evidence generation plans for respective assets. Partner with US and regional Medical Affairs teams (EU/International) to ensure regional input, aligned prioritization and coordinated execution of IEGPs.Accountable for developing and execution of Global Medical Affairs Plans for all Oncology assets in late development or on market Ensure that these plans are coordinated and strategically aligned with the overall Brand Strategy.Support launch readiness initiatives and collaborate with regional Medical Affairs teams (US/EU/International) for compliant support of commercial activities as needed.Accountable for development and execution of a publication strategy and plan for Oncology, including review of manuscripts for publications and abstracts and posters for presentation at scientific meetings.Accountable for the development and execution of appropriate HEOR plans, supervision of staff on on-going data generation projects as well as providing guidance for new projects.De elop strategy for KOL engagement at the Global Oncology level, with continued oversight and alignment of KOL strategy through product's lifecycle. Collaborate with US, EU/International Medical Affairs and all relevant R&D Functions to ensure a coordinated approach for KOL management and engagements.Build and maintain relationships with global experts - able to obtain important key scientific insights to support the Oncology TAConduct late-stage scientific due diligence for in-license opportunities, when requested.Represent Oncology in medical activities at medical and scientific conferences and build Jazz's reputation in Oncology.Represent, collaborate, influence and negotiate across the organization with senior stakeholders to provide Medical Affairs inputs for Oncology specific product(s)Required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesDoctorate degree required. MD degree preferred.At least 10 years of pharmaceutical industry experience and a minimum of 5 years of experience in Medical Affairs in solid tumors and hematological malignancies.Clinical experience in the field of Oncology preferred.Proven effective managerial oversight of a medical affairs team representing different functions.Previous clinical development experience in Oncology at an above country level is desired.Experience delivering end to end evidence generation activities, such as Phase IV and Investigator initiated studies.Prior experience supporting IND filing/submission and launch experience is highly desired.Experience with strategic and tactical planning for pipeline and marketed product, including expertise and knowledge of the unique aspects of oncology drug development and commercialization.Understanding of the US, EU/International regulatory framework for oncology product development and commercialization, including reimbursement and market access.High degree of professionalism, integrity and collaboration required.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.Results Orientation: s/he/they will drive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
