This position directs the Division of Communicable Disease Field Services. Positions within the Division include Community Health Nurse Supervisors, Community Health Nurse, Disease Intervention Specialist Supervisors, Disease Intervention Specialists, and Disease Intervention Specialist Trainees. These field supervisors and staff are geographically located throughout the Commonwealth and conduct communicable disease investigation and intervention activities. These investigations and intervention activities primarily pertain to the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and sexually transmitted diseases (STD), but may include Mpox, viral hepatitis, tuberculosis or other emerging diseases or outbreaks when necessary.Duties of this position include the planning, organizing, coordinating, directing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating disease intervention services (field services) within the BCD. You directly supervise six field staff, and those six field staff directly supervise over 30 staff. You assign work to field staff supervisors and oversee their work to ensure their effectiveness, consistency, and compliance. You also ensure adherence to onboarding and annual requirements for field staff supervisors and field staff. In addition, you work closely and collaboratively with numerous public and private entities to strengthen the capacity of PADOH to mitigate the spread of infections and oversee the development and maintenance of policies and procedures for field service activities.Public Health Emergency Response - This position may be given an assignment to support the public health emergency response mission of the Department of Health. Emergency assignments could at times be received with little or no advance notice and may continue for any period of time - ranging from a few hours to several weeks, depending on the nature of the circumstance. The emergency assignments may at times be performed under adverse conditions and may require travel to another site other than the employee's assigned headquarters for a period of time.Interested in learning more? Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with 60-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:Eight years of professional experience in the development or evaluation of grants, contracts or programs for the provision of social, employment, environmental health or health related services, which include two years of administrative, supervisory or consultative experience; or

One year as a Public Health Program Manager; or

Two years as a Public Health Program Administrator; or

A bachelor's degree and four years of professional public health, health, allied health sciences, drug and alcohol or related experience; which includes two years of administrative, supervisory or consultative experience, which includes two years of administrative, supervisory or consultative experience; or

A bachelor's degree and four years of professional experience in the development or evaluation of grants, contracts or programs for the provision of social, employment, environmental health, or health related services, which includes two years of administrative, supervisory or consultative experience; or

An associate's degree in allied health sciences or nursing and six years of professional experience in the development or evaluation of grants, contracts or programs for the provision of social, employment, environmental health, or health related services, which includes two years of administrative, supervisory or consultative experience; or

A master's degree in public health, health services administration, health care; or administration, health education, public health administration, public administration, nursing, epidemiology, social work, nutrition, hospital administration, physical therapy, occupational therapy, business administration, or education and three years of professional experience in the development or evaluation of grants, contracts or programs for the provision of social, employment, environmental health or health related services, which includes two years of administrative, supervisory or consultative experience.
