Job Summary

The Associate Director of Development is a Leadership Annual Giving Officer (LAGO) that will facilitate engagement among donors, alumni, friends, parents, faculty, staff and students of the College of Nursing and Health Professions (CNHP). The primary function of this position is to engage and build relationships with these prospective donors to identify their area of interest, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward philanthropic support.

The LAGO is a member of the Institutional Advancement team (IA) and has the primary responsibility of front-line solicitation for gifts that will focus two-fold on increasing annual gifts and building the pipeline of donors exhibiting giving capacity of $2,500 to $49,999, while also identifying potential major gift donors. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Functions

Coordinate with the Assistant Vice President on creating a monthly outreach plan that outlines fundraising goals and strategies designed to engage and solicit a portfolio of prospects and donors.

Maintain a schedule of 12 visits per month including face-to-face, virtual and phone, provided the visit is engaging, substantive, and moves the prospect/donor forward.

Reach out to a defined minimum of prospects/donors each month with carryover from prior months to maintain a defined active portfolio.

Seek opportunities to identify referrals and find new prospects to engage.

Travels extensively regionally and nationally.

Identify and move high-level annual giving level donors to the major gift pool ($50,000+) helping to grow the donor pipeline.

Responsible for updating pipeline and entering proposals of $10,000 or more.

Encourage constituents to progress as donors by joining the Anthony J. Drexel Society ($2,500 or more annually).

Work with unit leadership to help identify key volunteers and constituencies to establish and promote alumni events that identify, cultivate and steward prospects.

Serve as frontline staff to represent and promote Drexel University to constituents and the community.

Maintain knowledge of current college/school and university-wide institutional priorities and giving opportunities.

Works collaboratively with colleagues across fundraising units.

Adhere to performance goals and standards for development officers as specified by the Office of Institutional Advancement and Unit leadership.

Follows IA procedures regarding prospect management and documenting contacts.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience. (Please review the Equivalency Chart for additional information.)

Minimum of 3 years of related experience with demonstrated success in annual giving and/or major gifts fundraising.

Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Excellent administrative skills.

Valid Driver s License.

Ability to travel regionally as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Program and pipeline building experience.

Knowledge of prospect management systems.

Knowledge of database fundraising software including CS Advance.

Face-to-face fundraising, phonathon, and/or outreach experience in a development program.

Additional Information

This position is classified as Exempt, grade M. Compensation for this grade ranges from $75,200 -$112,790 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
