The role is encouraged to drive technology discussions and analyze the current landscape for gaps in addressing business needs. Cognizant needs a motivated individual to challenge the status quo and provide thought leadership/standard methodologies to improve our current services and technologies. Role: Senior DeltaV Automation Engineer.

Location: Indianapolis IN(Onsite preferred, remote will be considered) Roles/Responsibilities:

Oversee process automation software development for their area.

Work with system integrators to develop functional specifications.

Ensure consistency of the automation work you're doing (functional specifications, control strategies, phases, and recipes, etc.) within their area.

Participate in P&ID and control strategy reviews.

Assist in defining the DeltaV software components that need to be created or modified.

Communicate progress, issues, and needs to the Project Technical Lead for the project.

Develop functional requirements working in multidisciplinary teams.

Support creation of Parameter and Recipe Specification documents.

Responding to system integrator technical queries.

Support automation software testing execution -test case preparation, problem reporting and resolution, change verification.

Witness and verify the system integrator Software Factory Acceptance Tests.

Identification of any remediation effort required on process control software.

Create items in the issue tracker as issues arise after the software acceptance.

Identify and analyze risks of technical nature particular to the area and planning responses.

Maintain compliance with training requirements. Requirements:

BS Engineering (or equivalent experience)

8+ years working Automation experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry (preferable in API/bulk manufacturing)

Previous Pharmaceutical Automation Project experience - including:

Deriving S88 physical model from P&IDs

Deriving software control strategies from PFDs and related process documents

DeltaV DCS implementation exposure/experience

Exceptional teamwork abilities

Strong knowledge of GMP's, regulatory requirements and computer system validation principles

Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences Qualifications:

Process Automation project experience with the DeltaV platform

Understanding of Process Automation implementation in a Pharma/Biotech environment.

Familiarity with ISA 88 and GAMP.

Clear understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.

Bachelor's or Graduate's Degree in engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering or computer engineering, or equivalent experience.

Experience with SCADA, PLCs, HMI, APIs, SQL software and systems is not required but desirable.

8+ years relevant DeltaV experience in pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry. Good to have:

Proactive approach.

Natural problem solver.

Skilled in writing protocols and collaboration.

Demonstrated skill with scripting and test automation.

Mentor, guide and support fellow team members.

Drive for innovation and continuous improvement.

Effectively organize and prioritize tasks to make the most of available time. Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $90,000K -$109,000K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans
