Development Associate

UPMC Children’s Hospital Foundation is currently seeking a Development Associate to support day-to-day tasks and strategic outreach for the Development team. Reporting to the Director, Development, this position creates and coordinates tools and resources, conducts gift processing, and supports outreach efforts that relate to fundraising. The position will work at the main Foundation office at Techmill 41, 105 40th Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15201.Responsibilities:

Responsible for writing discovery, cultivation and solicitation outreach for community, corporate and major donors.

Creates continuity in messaging and approach across all fundraising outreach efforts

Responsible for maintaining tools and resources, while also cross promoting among teams to increase understanding of availability

Maintain the donor database including moves management and action tracks. Generate reports on fundraising to ensure consistent data collection that reflects relationship and gift proposal activity, stages and engagement.

Process of charitable donations.

Manage list creation for appeal mailings.

Coordinate and manage special projects, mailings, donor reports, and other fundraising initiatives as appropriate/required.

Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, public relations, communications, liberal arts, journalism, business or related field.

1-3 years of experience in development, communications, business, data management or related field.

Experience with development and/or fundraising in a health care, education or community non-profit setting preferred.

Strong verbal, written, interpersonal and problem-solving skills and the ability to work with many different constituencies such as donors, volunteers, trustees and staff.

Ability to present a professional image of the hospital and articulate mission and values of the hospital.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to meet deadlines in fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously with accuracy.

Capacity to work independently and as part of a team to fulfill goals of the department.

High level of enthusiasm, initiative, motivation and self-direction. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

Act 34 Clearance with renewal

Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
