Paralegal Position Summary: The Paralegal will support attorneys in handling medical malpractice cases by performing various legal and administrative tasks. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures, as well as the ability to manage complex case files with accuracy and efficiency. Key Responsibilities:

Case Preparation: Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions by organizing case files, drafting legal documents, and ensuring all necessary evidence is collected and reviewed.

Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal research related to medical malpractice claims, including reviewing case law, statutes, and regulations to support case strategies.

Document Management: Draft, review, and file legal documents such as complaints, motions, and discovery requests. Maintain and update case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and organized.

Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates on case status, and answer general inquiries. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Medical Records Review: Analyze and summarize medical records and other relevant documentation to identify critical information pertinent to the case.

Court Filings: Prepare and file court documents, including complaints, motions, and other pleadings, ensuring compliance with court rules and deadlines.

Administrative Tasks: Schedule meetings, depositions, and court appearances. Coordinate with medical experts and other witnesses as needed.

Case Management: Track case deadlines and manage case calendars to ensure timely completion of tasks and adherence to legal procedures.

Qualifications:

Education: Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies or equivalent experience; a Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certification is a plus.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Paralegal, preferably in a medical malpractice or personal injury law firm.

Skills: Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures. Excellent research, writing, and organizational skills. Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.

Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact professionally with clients, attorneys, and medical professionals.

Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing case documentation and legal processes.

Confidentiality: Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality and integrity.
