The Department of Health is seeking a dedicated Administrative Assistant to join our Division of Statistical Registries team. In this pivotal role, you will contribute to the bureau's mission of managing statewide registries for vital events by overseeing the processes involved in amending birth registry case records. DESCRIPTION OF WORKIn this position, you will play a pivotal role in developing policies and procedures, setting performance metrics, driving process and quality improvements, and partnering with the birth registry field program to strengthen outreach and educational efforts. You will maintain in-depth knowledge of the various allowable corrections and amendments to birth records, ensuring compliance with established guidelines. Additionally, you will investigate discrepancies or inconsistencies in requests to amend birth records, carefully reviewing application details and eligibility documentation. You will also establish productivity and quality benchmarks for staff based on a thorough analysis of workload, workflow, and external factors affecting performance. Your role will involve evaluating operational procedures and policies to assess their effectiveness, efficiency, fraud prevention, and adherence to applicable laws and regulations. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week

Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time after completing a minimum of two weeks of mandatory on-site training. Following that, you will be required to report into the office one scheduled day per month and as needed for training. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university; or

Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
