The Opportunity:Avantor is looking for a strategic Manager, Avantor Business System to join our organization, supporting the roll out of design, adoption, and execution of the ABS across select business segments within our manufacturing and distribution centers.The Manager, Avantor Business System will focus on creating, supporting, and assisting the improvement efforts tied to the company's most critical business processes, primarily in the innovation, commercial, and operations functions. Through analyzing processes, diagnosing operational challenges, and implementing process changes, in this role you will drive continuous improvement and breakthrough performance ultimately shaping company culture and brand.This position is full-time, remote (preferably in EST / CST time zones) plus approximately 80% travel (2 weeks per month) to assigned manufacturing and distribution centers.What we're looking forEducation: BS or BA Degree (ideally Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering); Master's Degree preferredExperience: Minimum 5 years in a lean/operational leadership roleExtensive training and implementation experience in industry leading lean tools and practices (Kaizen, Gemba)Ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations from a general manager's perspective.Familiarity with various manufacturing process technologiesExcellent time and project managementExecution - Delivers and measures results.Influence - Drive commitment over compliance, must be able to inform, convince, and persuade others to take action on initiatives.Technical Expertise - Possess the technical skills necessary to be credible; must have significant practitioner experience in Growth & Lean tools and processes.Communication - must be able to effectively communicate in both written and verbal forms, and courageously speak to all levels of the organization.Demonstrated successful leadership and proficiency in building and implementing lean business system/practices for global manufacturing organization (in a variety of situations)Strategic mindset with hands-on approachStrong focus on customer and end user experienceGains traction quickly, demonstrates ambition and high energy.Independent worker, capable of operating in a fast-moving, ever-changing environment and able to effectively deal with difficult situations.How you will thrive and create an impactDeploy Avantor Business System and organization through partnership and influence of the Executive Leadership TeamImplement the Business System including daily management metrics, review and problem-solving cadence and agenda/format, process to address KPI and CVD (core value drivers); implementing lean tools and training programs to enable PSP/action planning.Establish a lean deployment program which; ensures the application of globally recognized standards for lean principles and practices, serves as a benchmark for Avantor's achievements, provides a common roadmap for continuous improvement and workforce development.Develop capability across the spectrum from the tactical (deployment and application of principles, concepts, and methods) to the strategic (a transformation that deeply impacts a key value stream)Coaching and implementation of best-in-class lean tools and methodology (hands-on experience a must)Disclaimer:
