OverviewSavannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) is seeking a Senior Construction Field Engineer Surveyor or Sr. Surveyor II to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site (SRS).Apply online using a current resume under the careers section of www.savannahrivermissioncompletion.com .The Senior Construction Field Engineer Surveyor or Sr. Surveyor II performsand coordinates survey activities to support Construction, Operations and Maintenance initiatives. Interfaces with applicable organizations (i.e. Engineering, Supervision, Operations, Design) to perform assigned tasks. Generates excavation layout sketches and modifies site maps as required using applicable survey software. Monitors and controls schedule/budget and manages planning and performance of field activities.Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate survey work activities / crews performing field surveying in support of construction / maintenance activities or operations requestsrequiring a full working knowledge of all construction survey practices.

Provide technical and operational direction to survey crew members.

Operate a variety of survey equipment and instruments in performance of physical layout work.

Responsible for operation of Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) equipment to locate underground interferences and embedded commodity interferences.

Provide precision dimensional verification of commodities during fabrication or as-builts.

Provide precise dimensional layout support for critical location / setting of equipment and/or commodities.

Provide Topographic and Boundary surveys in accordance with site procedures and tolerances.

Prepare detail drawings and sketches using Micro-station, including interference research for excavations and information sketches.

Prepare as-built field maps for use in Site Maps upgrade.

Responsible to monitor/ensure survey equipment is calibrated.

Perform walk downs and review designs for constructability relative to survey / layout.

Provide interface with applicable organizations for safety and/or security concerns affecting proposed or in-process survey activity.

Position requires a working knowledge of survey / layout and Ground Penetrating Radar equipment and a thorough understanding of practices required to perform various survey activities.

Additional responsibilities as a Senior Construction Engineer/Surveyor II:

Manages and coordinates survey work activities/crews as a Party Chief in performing field surveying in support of construction/maintenance activities or operations requests requiring a full working knowledge of all construction survey practices.

Provides direction to survey crew members on basic to fairly complex technical and operational activities requiring advanced subject matter expertise.

Proactively interfaces with management and engineering groups to ensure activities are on track, obstacles removed, and requirements are met.

Controls schedule/budget and contributes to the planning and performance of activities/projects.

Operates a variety of survey equipment and instruments, including total stations, GPS, survey levels and data collectors, in performance of physical layout work.

Monitors/ensures survey equipment is calibrated.

May mentor others.

Experienced in survey network control

POSITION DESCRIPTION The Principal Engineer will be expected to perform Supply Chain Management functions at a top professional level. The successful candidate will be able to manage and plan with the following functional areas: Acquisition Services and Inventory, Site Construction Material Schedules, Supplier Manufacturing, Warehouse Operations, Technical Services and Project Management. The role of the Principal Engineer is to ensure Glovebox manufacturing at optimum capacity to achieve excellent customer service at the Savannah River Site. The Procurement Engineer is responsible for: Taking actions to ensure safety, security, and disciplined execution of Glovebox work are top priorities. Obtain safety training, make safety an integral part of work. Managing work in a manner that helps to drive quality (compliance/standardization), speed (cycle time), and efficiency (process improvements) to ensure all Gloveboxes are delivered on-time meeting all requirements. Ensuring Glovebox excellence, deliver results (be accountable to customers/meet objectives and targets), energize and recognize teams (build strong talent/recognize outstanding efforts), and build relationships (communicate transparently/provide excellent customer service). Actively participate in SCM’s processes to ensure all Glovebox stakeholders are engaged and provide needed data for Glovebox manufacturing success. Identify and implement Glovebox Value Stream continuous improvements. Performing cross functional senior program level coordination to help facilitate effective Glovebox operations. This coordination may include warehouse, property, purchasing, quality, Glovebox manufacturers, etc. The SCM Procurement Engineer will have periodic management oversight of assigned projects for each Glovebox type. The Savannah River Site (SRS), a 310 square mile (198,046 acres) Department of Energy site, is located in the sand-hills region of South Carolina.
