This role will focus on advancing climate action and adaptation strategies, developing and managing related projects, and ensuring that initiatives align with the citys broader sustainability goals.Essential Functions:
Works closely with other city departments and community organizations to contribute to the effective implementation and coordination of climate resilience programs, helping to advance the city's climate goals.
Actively collaborates in the planning, development, and execution of climate resilience projects, ensuring alignment with the citys broader objectives. Contribute to project timelines, deliverables, and outcomes alongside project leads.
Contributes to the research and development of policies aimed at enhancing land management and advancing climate resilience. Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to navigate and streamline policy adoption and implementation processes.
Partners with teams to align the Climate Action and Adaptation Plan with other city plans and sustainability goals, ensuring a cohesive approach to climate resilience across multiple initiatives.
Works with data teams to collect, analyze, and interpret climate-related data, helping to inform decision-making and policy development. Assist in preparing reports and presenting findings to leadership and stakeholders.
Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.

Education and Experience(An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered):Education and Experience
Bachelors Degree in Natural Resources, Sustainability, Planning, Environmental Science or related field
3 to 5 years of relevant experience in climate resilience, sustainability, or a related field.
Licenses or Certifications
Valid drivers license.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of:
Climate resilience, nature-based climate solutions and local climate vulnerabilities.
Municipal policy, planning processes, and sustainability frameworks.
Effective community engagement strategies, stakeholder relationship building, and public outreach methods.
