The job requires in-depth knowledge of SBA loan closing requirements and ability to evaluate and execute independently.This is a Remote OpportunitySchedule:Monday-Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm Eastern Standard TimeDepth & Scope:
Applies comprehensive knowledge of SBA Standard Operating Procedures to various transactional situations, adhering to both SBA eligibility and bank policy, to autonomously solve for the most complex of SBA loan
Maintains expert knowledge of SBA loan documentation, collateral perfection, title insurance, UCC filing, compliance requirements, etc.
Assists in the review of other Loan Specialist loan files for completion, accuracy and due diligence as well as loan documentation and funding requirements
Acts as coverage in Manager absence
Performs leadership functions including departmental reporting, development and maintenance of training material, resolving process escalations, participating in audit work and spearheading special projects, as needed
Participates as Subject Matter Expert for projects, as well as systems testing and updates
Trains Loan Specialists; advises lower level Loan Specialists on how to handle problematic scenarios impacting loan processing
Partners cross-functionally across TD's organization to provide strategic and tactical thought to effectively drive results
Independently manages a loan pipeline from origination through closing in accordance with Bank policies and procedures, as well as SBA Standard Operating Procedures
Provides documentation and Bank policy and procedure guidance to all lending areas
Serves as a SBA resource to support departments
Establishes and manages relationships, as applicable, with Business Development Officers, Credit Management, operations teams and others, as needed
Acts as liaison with Bank Counsel, Compliance Dept, ABL, Derivatives, CREA, and other various parties to the loans, as needed
Ensures that all required loan conditions (insurance, collateral, etc.) are sufficient and properly documented in compliance with Bank policy
Ensures deadlines are met
Ensures loan documentation is complete and accurate. Addresses any exceptions
Partners with Closing Specialist team to ensure that loans are funded and booked accurately and timely
Manages special projects and performs duties, as required
Education & Experience:
4-year degree or equivalent experience required
5+ years of SBA loan closing experience
Comprehensive knowledge of SBA, federal and state regulations and UCC and banking regulations
Excellent documentation skills
Excellent knowledge of Banking Systems
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong PC skills including Word, Excel, Access and other Microsoft products
Preferred Qualifications:
Commercial SBA experience
Experience with nCino
