Quality Engineer Position Summary Amarillo Quality Engineers ensures adherence to our Quality Management System (QMS), conformity to our engineering requirements, and communication, both verbally and in writing, at all levels of management. This enables the engineers to develop the skills required for increasing responsibilities and leadership roles. The Quality Engineer is Responsible for: Deriving true defects and non-conformances detected on aircraft in assembly and flight areas through process reviews and data collection

Analyzing defect data to:

Assist manufacturing value stream teams in driving down defects

Analyze and prepare metrics for VS teams and management

Determine facility containment

Ensuring continuous improvement within the business:

Facilitate Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) projects

Lead Corrective Action Boards (CAB)

Prepare DCMA Corrective Action Request (CAR) responses

Identifying opportunities to engage the workforce in building quality into our products

Maintaining a team environment that simultaneously includes compliance to requirements and continuous process improvement

Representing the Quality Operations team on committees and in meetings

Maintaining an in-depth knowledge of Bell department and plant policies and procedures

Further developing soft skills by working collaboratively with:

All levels of Bell (Plant Manager, shop floor personnel, Value Stream Manager (VSM), etc.) across multiple facilities (FTW, Ozark, etc.)

Liaison Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, DCMA

Numerous suppliers, both internal and external

Providing leadership and support to interns and department personnel

QualificationsEducation Requirements:Bachelor's Degree Engineering or closely related Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) degree is required

Experience at all levels will be considered with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience with 5 years relevant experience preferred

Qualifications: Continuous Improvement/Green Belt certification preferred

Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing training preferred

CATIA training preferred

Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel)

Excellent oral and written communication skills are required

Strong knowledge in Bell’s systems (ENOVIA, SAP, etc.) preferred
