We use best in class technology utilizing innovative PicoWay® laser equipment to safely and effectively remove tattoos.ROLE OVERVIEWWe are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Controller tooversee our technical accounting operations, provide support for annual audits, and ensure tax and regulatory compliance for our North American operations. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in both IFRS and US GAAP, experience managing complex accounting processes, and a thorough understanding of North American tax regulations.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Technical Accounting:
Oversee and ensure compliance with IFRS and US GAAP, providing expertise on complex accounting issues, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, financial reporting, employee stock option. accounting and other technical accounting matters.
Manage the implementation of new accounting standards and policies, ensuring timely and accurate adoption.
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
Annual Audit:
Lead and coordinate the external audit process, working closely with auditors to ensure timely and successful completion.
Prepare audit schedules, financial statements, and supporting documents for annual audits.
Address auditor queries and provide necessary explanations and documentation for all audit-related activities.
Tax and Compliance:
Own Tax and compliance workstreams. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including preparing and reviewing tax filings (income tax, sales tax, etc.).
Work closely with external tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate tax reporting.
Manage North American tax planning strategies, ensuring the company minimizes tax liabilities and maximizes opportunities for tax credits and incentives.
Stay current on changes to tax laws and regulations, ensuring compliance and providing recommendations to management for necessary adjustments.
Assist in overseeing regulatory compliance, ensuring that all filings are accurate and submitted on time.
Other Responsibilities
Assist with the month-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
Review final Payroll reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance
Assist in managing the day-to-day accounting functions, including overseeing junior accounting staff.
Maintain compliance with internal policies and relevant external regulations
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years audit experience or in an assistant controller role or similar capacity.
Strong knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP, technical accounting, and financial reporting.
Experience with external audit processes, ideally with Big Four or large public accounting firm exposure.
Proven experience in tax compliance and working knowledge of North American tax regulations.
Strong written and verbal communication and teamwork skills
Experience with multi-site healthcare locations in an MSO/MSA structure highly desirable.
Experience with NetSuite a plus.
Experience with Adaptive Insights a plus.
