The Virtual Networking Team owns a highly reliable, versatile and performant Virtual Cloud Network (VCN) which provides consistent performance, isolation, and availability for our customers.https://cloud.oracle.com/enUS/networkingWe are the team that delivers both a Software Defined Network (SDN) and virtual network features. The VCN team builds distributed services that handle planning, provisioning, life cycle management and security of our customers' network infrastructure. Our data plane team owns the packet processing infrastructure that provides the high-speed connectivity that virtual cloud networks are built on top of and also provide core network access control and visibility features.We’re looking for a hands-on leader with strong management experience to help us build new features and grow our team. These are exciting times in our space - we are growing fast and working on ambitious new initiatives. As a Sr. Manager of Product Development, you will own critical packet processing software and manage a team of software engineers responsible for the development of major networking technologies in Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure. You should be comfortable working in a fast-moving environment which requires agility, and the drive to deliver. Minimum 2+ years of management experience in Networking/cloud/embedded software
Proficient with Linux
Minimum 2+ years in large scale distributed applications or 2+ years in networking
Bachelors in computer science and Engineering or related engineering fields
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior cloud experience
10+ years of experience with Networking/Cloud development
Prior development experience with embedded C programming, network protocol implementation, or network packet process
Experience with Agile, Jira & Confluence
Experience with CICD, & Ops
Masters / PhD degree in Computer Science or related engineering fields
ResponsibilitiesAlong with People management for direct reports, following are the additional responsibilities :Service Accountability –You will lead a team whose mission is to build core network infrastructure that is highly performant, scalable, and reliable.Ownership Scope – You own the performance of the service as it relates to the the networking dataplane as well as the roadmap to determine the key features required by our customers and partner teams.Operations Engineering – You will understand and be able to communicate the scale, capacity, security, performance attributes, and requirements of the service(s) you own. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
