Job Description:
As a Purchasing Agent, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of materials and supplies necessary for our commercial plumbing projects. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that all materials are ordered, received, and delivered on time and within budget. You will work closely with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to maintain optimal inventory levels and support the successful completion of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Source and purchase materials, equipment, and supplies required for commercial plumbing projects.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to secure the best deals.
Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and identify potential new suppliers.
Monitor inventory levels and reorder materials as needed to avoid project delays.
Coordinate with project managers and other team members to understand project requirements and timelines.
Ensure timely delivery of materials to job sites, resolving any issues that may arise.
Review and process purchase orders, invoices, and delivery documentation.
Track and report on purchasing activities, costs, and supplier performance.
Stay informed about market trends, new products, and changes in pricing.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and industry standards.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent, preferably in the commercial plumbing industry or a related field.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Attention to detail and accuracy in all purchasing activities.
Knowledge of plumbing materials, equipment, and supplies is a plus.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
