Job Title: Cloud Engineer/OpenShift Engineer Location: Addison, TX/ Charlotte, NC (Remote for now and then after hybrid) Requirement:
Candidates must have 5 years of experience working with Unix/Linux Server platforms. Must be extremely proficient in Kubernetes /OpenShift /Shell scripting /Python/Ansible development. Must have experience with whole lifecycle of cloud services—from inception and design, through deployment, operation, and support.
A successful candidate must have hands on experience on OpenShift Container platform and Kubernetes and demonstrate ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine task. They should be able to work stand-alone and with a distributed team.
Job description:
Responsible for engineering of new capabilities to the OpenShift Platform and delivering those capabilities in a fully automated and supportable fashion.
Develops, enhances, tests, supports, maintains, and debugs software applications that support business units or support functions.
Investigate new products and/or capabilities of existing products to serve customer
needs
Identify and drive opportunities to improve automation for cloud platform including writing automation software to deploy the container platform and automate day2 maintenance.
Troubleshoot issues across the entire stack: hardware, software, application, and network
Integrate products and features into existing bank processes, with an eye towards
automation of the process
Required skills:
Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience working on infrastructure engineering, including Openshift platform.
Deep knowledge and hand-on experience with OpenShift and/or Kubernetes platform.
Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, Azure/AWS cloud, Terraform
Experience in DevOps and GitOps models with infra-as-code, config-as-code, policy-as-code, etc
Knowledge of various container runtimes, container constructs in the Linux kernel (namespaces, SELinux, etc.)
Experience with automation in one or more of the programming: Python, Ansible and shell scripting
Excellent understanding of Linux /Windows operating systems administration
Exposure to continuous integration and continuous deployment tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, etc).
Experience working with container registries (e.g. JFrog Artifactory, DTR, etc)
Knowledge of TCPI/IP networking, specifically as it relates to containers.
Self-starter able to work with minimal supervision.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication (written, verbal, and presentation) skills are a must.
