Robert Half's new Controller opening will give you the opportunity to take responsibility for an accounting and clerical department at a successful company. The Controller will be a permanent employment opportunity and will be located in the Dallas, Texas region. The ideal candidate for this position can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. In this role, it will be critical for you to effectively manage self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services, lead while also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge the status quo. Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed
Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month
Meet client expectations by reviewing deliverables of self and team to make sure they meet client satisfaction
Occasionally perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities
Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection
Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management
Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis
Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation Requirements - Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
Command of Microsoft Excel
Cash Flow Forecasts experience desired
Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued
Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired
Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
