Reporting to the Director of Communications, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the department, planning and executing communication plans in collaboration with internal and external teams We are looking for a strategic thinker with excellent writing and verbal communication skills. You must be able to listen effectively, articulate ideas clearly, and demonstrate an executive presence when engaging with senior leadership and multiple stakeholders. This position is based onsite at our corporate office in Dallas, Texas. Responsibilities
Reports to the Director of Communications & Public Relations
Supervises one direct report
Contributes to creation of communications plans that meet our company’s objectives; manage against them
Works with internal teams including Brand Marketing, Social Media, Content, Operations, Sales, etc. to plan and execute communications plans
Manages multiple projects from conception to completion, by anticipating challenges and ensuring deadline adherence
Consistently produces high quality internal and external communications content
Manages day-to-day relationship with agency partners, as well as that of their corresponding property client contacts
Attends weekly or bi-weekly agency/property meetings
Demonstrates tactical proficiency in media relations, including creating and driving media outreach plans
Reviews all media materials from agency partners and/or property media/marketing contacts
Assists team in planning and executing media or VIP events
Fields and evaluates incoming media requests
Plans and participates in brainstorming events to generate ideas for stories, guest promotions, partnerships, etc.
Creates media coverage reports as necessary
Qualifications
College degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related field
Five plus years of related work experience
Strong research, writing, editing and interaction skills, performs well under pressure and a team player
Proven ability to manage multiple projects, delegate and accurately judge and edit the work of others
Experience in writing internal and external executive communications
In-depth knowledge of the media landscape of the DFW Metroplex area a plus
Travel, hospitality, or consumer media experience preferable
