Job SummaryWe are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Design Project Manager to lead and coordinate design efforts for complex construction projects. This role involves managing design teams, ensuring project timelines are met, and maintaining seamless communication between stakeholders. ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary point of contact for client technical and contracting staffLead multi-disciplinary architectural and engineering design teams, including subconsultants, for federal capital improvement projectsSupervise and guide the design team from project initiation through completionEnsure quality control of all design deliverables, ensuring alignment with client standards, applicable codes, and internal processesDevelop, implement, monitor, and update the project management plansProvide timely and accurate communication to clients, the project delivery team, and leadership regarding project status, budget, and scheduleFacilitate interdisciplinary coordination among architects, engineers, contractors, and clientsLead design review meetings, document meeting minutes, and track action itemsDevelop and maintain design schedules and project milestone timelinesReview and comment on design deliverables to ensure compliance with project requirementsCollaborate with cost estimators and schedulers to prepare construction cost estimates and milestone schedulesMonitor design progress to ensure project milestones and deadlines are metEnsure the project can be constructed within budget; develop bid options/alternates as necessaryCoordinate feasibility studies, environmental impact assessments, historic preservation studies, biological assessments, SHPO and tribal consultations, and Section 106/401/NEPA complianceRespond to bidder inquiries during the solicitation processReview and coordinate responses to construction contractor RFIsReview construction contractor submittals for compliance with design documentsLead planning, execution, and oversight of design projects to ensure alignment with client goalsUse Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Teams for document control and collaborationTrack project budgets and provide contract management servicesMonitor construction site activities to ensure adherence to design intent, safety protocols, and quality standardsFacilitate communication across all project stakeholders to ensure timely issue resolution and project continuityManage design budget execution, perform client invoicing, and review/process subconsultant invoicingSupport business development activities to include writing proposals, developing fees, building project teams to include consultants, and informing company leadership's work acceptance decisions RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Architecture or EngineeringMinimum 10 years of experience in engineering and construction with a minimum of 5 years of design experience (preparing plans, basis of design, and specifications) and 5 years of experience leading design teams; additional consideration will be given to candidate with experience working on Federal (USACE, VA, NCA) projectsStrong preference will be given to Registered Professional Engineers or ArchitectsProven experience in design management within the EPC industryStrong proficiency with software including Bluebeam, Primavera P6, Civil 3D, Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Microsoft Office Suite (SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPointDemonstrated ability in project scheduling, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and contract managementConstruction site experience with a solid understanding of construction processes and safety protocolsExcellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectivelyEffective communication skills for liaising with clients, teams, and vendors throughout all project phasesAbility to work with and lead with multi-disciplinary teams of subject matter experts, drafters/modelers, estimators, schedulers, subconsultants, and federal clientsProficiency with applicable design standards, codes, and regulationsRequires physical mobility to travel to differing job site locations to conduct pre-project surveys and in progress site inspections. This includes but is not limited to the ability to climb ladders and scaffolds, walk on uneven surface, lift loads up to 50 lb., and work on construction sites in all weather conditions.
