Be part of Stantec’s disaster services program which, as a corporate strategic initiative, has grown into a company-wide, collaborative resource for infrastructure recovery and hazard mitigation expertise.Your OpportunityWe are seeking exceptionally talented and enthusiastic professionals to join our disaster services program. This role allows candidates to support municipal, state, and/or federal clients in their disaster recovery efforts. You will apply your expertise as a member of the technical assistance teams we staff wherever disasters have been declared. Some assignments require deployment to the designated client field office, some are entirely remote at a Stantec or Home office, and some require minimal travel.Your Key ResponsibilitiesEnvironmental Planning and Historic Preservation (EHP) Specialists conduct EHP compliance reviews on Public Assistance (PA) grant applications for disaster recovery projects in the completed, standard, and specialized lanes within the FEMA PA delivery model. Their role includes helping to ensure compliance with EHP regulations and that the regulations are understood and incorporated as appropriate into Scopes of Work (SOW).QualificationsYour Capabilities and CredentialsPrior FEMA PA experience preferred, but not required

Strong understanding of EHP compliance requirements and the EHP review process, including a working knowledge of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Executive Orders 11988 and 11990, the Endangered Species Act, and the National Historic Preservation Act

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Strong observational, decision making, analytical, critical thinking, organizational, and problem-solving skills with ability to synthesize and clearly present key disaster recovery issues and progress to resolution

Flexible work style with the ability to immediately adapt to changing priorities

Successful track record working in, or leading project teams

Outstanding computer skills:

Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Word), Adobe Acrobat, and Google Earth required

FEMA Grants Manager is a plus

File conversion and import/export ability required

Experience dealing with public agencies

Current active FEMA badge a plus, eligibility for issuance required

Education and ExperienceEHP Specialists should have a college degree and a minimum of two years of professional experience in any of the following disciplines:Environmental Planning

Historic Preservation/Architecture

Biology

Wetlands
