Join the team that provides the best flood insurance oversight in the industry.As an Executive Director of the Flood & Insurance Center of Excellence (CoE) you will serve as the Head of the firmwide Flood Disaster Protection Act (FDPA) program, supporting both the Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) and the Commercial & Community Bank (CCB). In this role, you will provide Insurance expertise for real estate related deal closing transactions, off balance sheet loans, Government Sponsored Entity loans, CMBS, insurance renewals, Flood and Insurance Assessment Tool (FIAT) enhancements, and provide guidance and training on insurance related topics. Additional responsibilities include industry engagement, partnering with Government Relations on FEMA & Congressional advocacy, and partnering with Vendor Management to provide insurance expertise with external insurance consultants, determination vendors and lender placed contracts.If you are an outcome-focused leader, who fosters teamwork and has a proven ability to work across various business functions in a matrixed environment, this is the role for you.Job responsibilities:
Partner with Government Relations in advocating for reform of the FDPA and insurance guidelines with the GSEs
Provide leadership advice on Flood and Insurance across multiple stakeholders to include Credit, Operations, Bankers/Producers, QA/QC, Compliance, Legal, Vendor Management, Governance and Exam Management
Consult and advise on insurance requirements proposed in various credit agreements, mortgages, leases, as well as insurance policy documents
Partner with Compliance on providing input to the firmwide Flood Insurance Policy; and with Credit on Commercial Real Estate Guidelines
Prepare written recommendations for Senior Management as a pre-condition to implementing new programs, enhancing data collection and FIAT enhancements as applicable
Serve as a liaison at control meetings, Flood Governance Committee meetings, and Action Plan Committee meetings
Provide expert guidance to internal sourcing teams with insurance provisions and requirements related to Flood and Insurance vendor contracts
Identify and communicate industry emerging trends in Flood, Insurance and lending operations and lead regular meetings with stakeholders to inform and discuss
Regulatory reporting owner for Flood; Product owner and expert for FIAT
Executive presence to GSEs, examiners, and audit
Partner with Credit and Operations to continuously improve processes across Flood and Insurance to ensure a controlled environment for compliance, speed to execution to allow for quick decisioning and to continuously improve the borrower and employee experience
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
Bachelors degree with a concentration in insurance, risk management and/or insurance credentials (licensure, CPCU, CIS, ARM, etc.) and/or 15+ years working in insurance related roles
Expert level knowledge of a broad scope of insurance products, particularly Property, Casualty and Construction related insurance
Executive presence, comfortable interacting with, presenting to and influencing senior leaders, and external examiners
Proven success in collaborating and driving decisions with multiple stakeholders, including team members, operations, the business, legal, compliance and technology
Creative thought leader, exceptional problem solving and analytical skills with proven ability to provide structured conclusions to senior management
Ability to create a clear, simple and compelling documentation to external stakeholders
Proven leadership and influencing skills and ability to collaborate across a highly matrixed organization
Strong oral and written communication skills
Self-directed, highly organized, and detail oriented
Ability to set and manage accountabilities and expectations at all levels
Excellent relationship skills, highly collaborative - can build rapport and credibility quickly with all levels of the organization
