Primary Purpose

The Marketing Specialist for Parkland Community Health Plan (PCHP) drives marketing and communication to a specific audience group across paid, owned, and earned media by developing marketing plans that leverage insights to establish measurable objectives/goals and strategies for the audience group.

A highly collaborative position, this person will support key lines of business for PCHP (examples include, but are not limited to Clinical, Quality, and Member Outreach, Provider Relations), working directly with the internal teams to understand goals, identify how best to accomplish objectives, plan, execute, measure, and optimize branding and communications programs.

Minimum Specifications

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, journalism, public relations, advertising, business, or related field.

Master and/or other advanced degree in business preferred.

Experience

6 years' marketing experience in a hands-on role building strategic marketing plans from inception to execution.

Experience in healthcare, managed care insurance or financial services preferred.

Experience with federal, state and/or local statutes and guidelines preferred.

Equivalent Education and/or Experience

May have an equivalent combination of education and experience to substitute for both the education and the experience requirements.

Skills or Special Abilities

Ability to systematically gather information from a variety of sources, analyze information, identify implications of data, draw appropriate conclusions, and evaluate the potential outcomes.

Ability to connect with audiences through developing marketing plans across multiple marketing and communication channels.

Ability to function independently or as a team member.

Personal accountability with emphasis on internal and external customer service.

Must be able to demonstrate basic computer skills, strong organizational, and decision-making skills, and attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple deadlines and time constraints.

Responsibilities

Develops, implements, monitors, and optimizes marketing plans that leverage insights extracted from data to establish measurable objectives/goals and strategies for a specific line of business.

Establishes metrics and optimizes strategies though deriving qualitative and quantitative insights around motivations, behavior, attitudes, latent needs, and apply them across marketing campaigns.

Collaborates with relevant stakeholders to understanding success metrics and program goals to inform strategies to best to accomplish objectives through marketing and communications.

Writes and delivers creative briefs from marketing plans to guide the development of compelling assets to meet objectives of the assigned line of business.

Works with marketing analyst to track reports and extract and synthesize data to inform the development of strategic marketing plans that meet objectives.

Works with digital marketing strategist on how to bring relevant initiatives to life across the digital landscape.

Serves as a brand steward as it relates to visual and written materials and communication.

Participates in brainstorms, conduct competitive research, and identify opportunities to improve work processes and increase interdepartmental satisfaction.

Makes recommendations to supervisor, implements, and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals of the department and PCHP.

  2. Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, actively participating in professional organizations, and/or maintaining certification or licensure. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices.
  3. Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws and guidelines that impact the area. Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws, accreditation agency requirements, and customer requirements. Seeks advice and guidance as needed to ensure proper understanding.
