Romack Financial has partnered with an industry-leading shipping company to search for an IT Solutions Architect. This position is high-visibility, and will be groomed to become VP of IT. From a 20,000ft view, you will use practical experience in gathering functional business requirements, identify or design aligned software solutions, and then manage complex technical projects through development and implementation.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Design, build or acquire, and implement functional technology solutions that add value to firm.
  • Establish relationships with all departments, across all divisions, to become the point of contact for technology assisted business solutions and ideas.
  • Investigate, analyze, and understand company needs to define and document functional requirements.
  • Plan and design the structure of assigned technology solutions.
  • Communicate and validate solution designs with all impacted business customers.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate software or hardware and suggest integration methods.
  • Determine and define clear deliverables, roles, and responsibilities for assigned resources, as required for specific projects or initiatives.
  • Assign and oversee the daily tasks of assigned project resources and 3rd parties to ensure they are actively working toward established milestones.
  • Hold regular project team and customer meetings to review progress and address challenges and project risk.
  • Assist with solving technical problems when they arise.
  • Ensure the implementation of agreed architecture and infrastructure.
  • Assist in establishing and implement training processes and strategies for all technical personnel.
  • Work closely with the VP of IT and CFO on developing and implementing IT strategic vision.
  • Promote positive change culture and process improvement initiatives as assigned or observed.
  • Additional IT project, management and related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Degree/Certifications in Computer Science or a related field to an IT Solutions Architect and/or Project Manager
  • Proven experience in software design and development, project management and object-oriented architecture
  • Hands-on experience in implementing and managing Agile software development methodology.
  • Working familiarity with modern coding languages, ideally html5, JavaScript, .NET, AngularJS, PHP
  • Design experience with cloud technologies (e.g. VMware, Azure) databases (e.g. SQL), json, and noSQL/nonrelational DBs
  • Previous mobile App development/design experience a plus
  • Demonstrated experience with Project Management processes, strategies, and methodologies.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and management in the organization.
  • Ability to link and apply existing technology capabilities to achieve business strategies and goals.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues/problems, both logical and interpersonal
  • Effective verbal, written and presentation communications skills.
  • Experience interacting and managing vendors, contractors, and others.
  • Strong sense of personal accountability regarding timelines, decision-making and supervising assigned resources.
  • Ability to predict project challenges and seek to proactively head-off obstacles.
  • Availability outside of normal office hours when needed, to support the needs of a 24/7, 365-day business.
  • Job may require up to 15% travel, in US for short durations.
