Packaging Engineer

Description:We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Packaging Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing packaging solutions for our medical devices. This role ensures that all packaging meets regulatory standards, maintains product integrity, and is cost-effective.Key Responsibilities:Design and Development: Create and develop packaging systems for medical devices, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.Testing and Validation: Conduct packaging validation testing to ensure packages can withstand transportation and storage conditions.Collaboration: Work closely with product development teams to understand specific packaging needs and ensure alignment with product specifications.Cost Analysis: Assess the cost-effectiveness of various packaging solutions and implement improvements to enhance performance and reduce costs.Documentation: Prepare and maintain technical documentation related to packaging design and testing.Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure packaging processes adhere to quality standards.Procurement: Manage the procurement of packaging materials and equipment.Education: Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Packaging Engineering, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in packaging engineering, preferably in the medical device or pharmaceutical industries.Skills: Strong understanding of packaging materials, sterilization processes, and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA regulations).Familiar with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principlesFamiliar with medical device regulatory standards (FDA, ISO 13485, CE marking).Proficient in packaging design software Proficient in MS OfficeTechnical Proficiency: Experience with packaging design software and validation testing.Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with sustainable packaging solutions.Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.Certification in packaging engineering or related fields.Experience Level:Intermediate LevelAbout Actalent Actalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
