The Professional Software Engineer is responsible for the overall delivery process of a software application or service, including design, development, testing, deployment, production application support (e.g., troubleshooting) and maintenance with a focus on automation.Key Roles and Responsibilities:Performs AGILE development work on targeted 9-1-1 applications (9-1-1 PSP/9-1-1 PSP ALI/E911-EGW/E911-EFS/E911-IDB).
Ensures 9-1-1 team moves forward with a consistent and scalable open source solutions keeping Cloud Computing and Emerging Technologies at the forefront.
Heavily involved in code reviews and ensures standards are adopted throughout the organization.
Hands on design and development for proof of concepts in the Public Safety/Homeland Security space.
Tackles on-demand development for extremely short turn-around times; especially relating to 9-1-1 outages/troubleshooting.
Serves as one of the final levels of support for resolution of production issues for the 9-1-1 suite of applications.
Rotational 24x7x365 application support for 17 (seventeen) 9-1-1 applications.
Qualifications:Intermediate level technical professional, typically requires 3-5 years experience.
Preferred Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Science, Electrical Engineering, or Math; Developer nanodegree; or equivalent experience.
Secondary Skills: Jenkins, Kubernetes, Redis, Python.
