Project Manager - National Cultural Projects

Turner & Townsend Heery seeks an experienced Project Manager to join our national Cultural Projects team. This role supports projects from early planning through design, construction, facility opening, and operations. The Project Manager will focus on design management, owner’s representation, and project management services as a key member of the team, while serving as a subject matter expert in performing arts venue planning and technical production equipment and infrastructure.In addition, this position will lead technical production equipment and infrastructure assessments for renovation and new-build projects and provide clients with operational expertise to ensure venues are functional and community-focused. The project manager will coordinate and collaborate with local project management and cost management teams based on the complexity of the project. Responsibilities:Manage and oversee design management during concept, design development and construction phases for cultural and performing arts projects, ensuring compliance with operational intent, mission/vision, budget, and schedule. Includes interfacing with client representatives, architectural and engineering teams, contractors, consultants, and others.Collaborate with design professionals, contractors, and client representatives to align project goals with contract specifications, codes, and operational requirements.Support the design process, including reviewing drawings, assessing constructability, and integrating operational and technical production needs.Develop and maintain detailed project plans, budgets, and schedules; monitor financial status and ensure timely invoicing.Manage procurement strategies, including FF&E and specialized production equipment, and oversee move management.Facilitate communication and governance, including leading kick-off and regular stakeholder meetings, preparing progress reports, and ensuring compliance with company and client standards, safety, and QA/QC requirements. Proactively manage risks, change control, and performance metrics throughout design and construction.Coordinate commissioning, closeout, training programs and operational readiness, ensuring project delivery is functional and mission-focused.Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to best practices in cultural projects project management.Serve as a subject matter expert in performing arts venue planning and technical production equipment and infrastructure, including insights into early space planning and technical needs during the feasibility phase.Conduct and lead technical production equipment and infrastructure assessments for renovation and new-build projects, in collaboration with Turner & Townsend FCA team.Establish effective project governance, processes, and systems to be utilized throughout the project lifecycle.Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends.Represent Turner & Townsend at industry conferences. Cultivate and manage client relationships within the cultural projects domain.Contribute to proposal development, client interviews, and contract negotiations of new or existing projects.SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
