Registered Nurse, Lactation ConsutlantTexas Health Dallas is seeking an experience Lactation Consultant to join our tight-knit team.Is that you?Work location: Texas Health Dallas, 8200 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas Texas, 75231Work hours: Full Time, Days, 36 hours; 7:00am – 7:00pmDepartment highlights:· Average 400 deliveries per month· 62 bed Mom/Baby unit· Lactation provides consults on request, as well as outpatient consults· Manages breast pump rentals, donor milk to go program and breast pump depot program· Staffs 2-3 Lactation Consultants per dayHere’s What You Need· Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program· BSN preferred· One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.· Lactation Consultant experience preferred· IBCLC – Lactation Consultant certification within 12 months requiredWhat You Will Do· Function as expert resource on breastfeeding issues for patients, families, community, staff and physicians· Serve as clinical expert for lactation issues based on evidence· Produce documentation that initiates, follow and revise patient’s plan of care· Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to improve care processes and promote continuity of care· Review patient medications for potential complications associated with breastfeeding· Assess outpatients for symptoms of jaundice and breastfeeding problems· Participate in breast pump rental and retail sales within the Breastfeeding Resource CenterFor more than a half-century, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas has been at the forefront of health care in North Texas.
