We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer II to support the design and engineering of HVAC, mechanical utilities, and plumbing systems for advanced technology facilities. This role involves executing design tasks under the guidance of senior engineers and contributing to all phases of project delivery—from conceptual design through construction administration.In addition to HVAC and mechanical systems, this position places a strong emphasis on plumbing design, including domestic water, sanitary waste, storm drainage, and specialty piping systems. The ideal candidate will have foundational experience in plumbing engineering and a desire to grow their expertise in this area while working on complex, multidisciplinary projects.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign mechanical systems of basic complexity, including HVAC, mechanical utilities, and plumbing systems, in compliance with applicable codes and standards.Perform engineering calculations such as load analysis, pressure drop, and equipment sizing.Develop system schematics, P&IDs, plans, schedules, and installation details.Assist in the development of construction drawing packages and specifications with oversight.Support plumbing design tasks including:Domestic cold and hot water systemsSanitary and storm drainage systemsNatural gas and compressed air systemsSpecialty piping (e.g., purified water, process waste)Conduct field surveys and integrate design with existing conditions.Collaborate with architects, engineers, designers, vendors, and trade partners to ensure coordinated and constructible designs.Participate in squad checks and contribute to quality assurance efforts.Support construction activities including RFIs, submittal reviews, punch lists, and progress reports.Mentor junior designers and contribute to internal training efforts.Attend professional development activities and expand technical skill sets.
