Description If you're an experienced accountant with a knack for accuracy, Robert Half has a terrific opportunity for you to check out at an organization in the Wholesale Distribution industry. Your responsibilities as Staff Accountant will include preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. Your duties will also include participating in compliance, reviewing schedules for the reporting processes, and staying connected with our external auditors throughout quarterly reviews and annual audits. This position involves a good deal of time spent on producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. The Dallas, Texas based company is offering this position on a long-term contract / temporary to hire basis. Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner
Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules Requirements - Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Detailed and have the ability work independently
Current and relevant ERP system experience
Basic Bookkeeping experience
Expertise in Accounts Receivable (AR)
Accounts Payable (AP) experience
Chargebacks experience preferred
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Ability to meet deadlines
