A Financial Services company is looking to hire a Director of IT on a full-time direct hire basis. The ideal candidate will have prior experience managing a team/running a division of IT. They are looking for candidates with strong communication skills as well as a broad overall knowledge of IT.
Within this role, you will be implementing processes and controls to assure maximum uptime and quick server of software to the customer's user community. You will also be leading the strategy plan of Disaster recovery within the infrastructure and rolling that out to evaluate the points of failure to then recommend appropriate actions for future reference. This environment is primarily Windows, with around 600 servers mostly in VMWare and they have a couple Linux boxes so experience managing a mixed environment will be helpful, as you're still going to be hands on in maintaining, upgrading and managing the systems.
This is will be a player/coach type role. The CTO envisions that they will help build out their environment. In the process of doing that, they want to staff up but also leaves this person to still be very much hands on during the ramp up.
