This position will be responsible in developing Risk Engineering technical guidance and resource material for Middle and Large Commercial (MLC) Equipment Breakdown. Working with Underwriting Referral team along with other tasks needed to expand Equipment Breakdown. Being recognized as a Subject Matter Expert in Equipment Breakdown, this individual will support business results through collaborating with Underwriting and Risk Engineering to develop procedural guidelines, survey procedures and provide technical support and assist the Large Property and Inland Marine Equipment Breakdown portfolio. This role will also be responsible for for developing Risk Engineering Guidelines and working with Middle and Large Commercial Underwriting on risk selection. The position will require superior internal and external communication in support of MLC. This position will report to the Risk Engineering Director of Property and Inland Marine and can be located anywhere within the United States Responsibilities:

Demonstrate Risk Engineering Equipment Breakdown expertise, high-level decision-making skills, and comprehensive business knowledge

Experience in Renewable Energy and Heavy Manufacturing industry sectors.

Monitors and assesses the implementation of Risk Engineering guidelines, service standards and operational efficiencies.

Collaborates closely with Underwriting, Product and Risk Engineering.

Development of Risk Improvement Reports, Recommendations and Letters.

Has a high degree of autonomous decision-making authority.

Requirements:

Requires 10+ years of Equipment Breakdown Risk Engineering

Monitor and analyze data and key performance indicators (KPI’s) to identify patterns and trends in Equipment Breakdown and make recommendations for Risk Improvement

Team player who possesses strong proficiency and experience with industrial, mechanical and electrical equipment

Conduct periodic on-site Risk Engineering evaluations specific to Equipment Breakdown on Larger/Complex risks

Perform (as needed) Virtual Surveys to gain additional information on risk exposures

Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining solid relationships with all internal and external business partners.

Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills

An ability to think analytically about business problems, make recommendations and propose solutions to meet the business partner deadlines

High energy self-starter, who is resilient and has an entrepreneurial spirit while also collaborating with others in the organization.

Demonstration of solid time, organizational, and desk management skills.

Superior technical knowledge and sound decision-making and analytical skills

CompensationThe listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition.
