Job SummaryApplies moderate to high level of complex principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports and coordinates the implementation of accounting control.II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepares and processes moderate to high level of complex journal entries by collecting necessary data, analyzing costs, and preparing audit trail support.
Completes month-end and year-end close functions including preparing journal entries, assisting with the review of department financials, and working with other departments and field facilities throughout the close process.
Performs monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts mainly associated with company-wide centralized functions at Corporate. Most of these reconciliations are at a moderate to high level of difficulty due to their activity volume and level of risk associated with the accounts.
Works closely with various departments and leads monthly meetings with these teams to discuss new and ongoing matters identified in reconciliations, journal entries, or through other reviews.
Prepares and reviews financial reports in a timely and accurate manner; and completes individual analytical projects in an adequate manner given abstract project guidelines.
Participates in monthly financial meetings for discussions and review of pertinent matters.
Assists with the maintenance and application of internal controls.
Assists in the preparation of working papers for annual audit and internal controls audits.
Provides expertise and guidance to other Finance personnel for proper internal and external financial accounting procedures and their application.
Assists departmental managers/directors with other duties and projects as needed.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree (accredited) in Accounting or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four years of relevant work experience. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance highly preferred .
Experience: Five years of relevant work experience (in addition to education requirement).

C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
Expert accounting, accounts payable, and/or accounts receivable knowledge may be required.
Must currently reside in the Greater Houston area and able to commute to downtown Houston office.
Must be authorized to work in the US.
