The role is based in Houston, Texas, and involves various accounting and financial functions, including the monthly close process, maintaining adequate internal controls, asset management, and financial analysis. The Assistant Controller will be part of a team that creates procedures to make the close and reporting processes more efficient and accurate.Responsibilities: Play a key role in monthly accounting close process Carry out analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure complete and accurate accounting records are maintained Prepare, review, and approve journal entries and account reconciliations Ensure accurate and timely production of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting schedules Implement, document, and maintain adequate and effective processes to improve the cash applications, close, and reporting cycles Conduct proper analytical review of the operations from a balance sheet, income statement, bookings, and cash flow perspective Support external financial audit Manage Accounts Payable team Complete ad hoc reporting requirements and data analytics Train and manage general accounting staff.Requirements Must possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role or related financial management position Proficient in Month End Close procedures, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Skilled in Financial Reporting, with the ability to present data clearly and effectively Experience in Budgeting and Forecasting, with the ability to predict financial trends and plan accordingly Ability to Analyze Variance, identifying discrepancies and taking corrective actions Proficient in Variance Analysis, understanding the reasons behind budget variances Experience with Info LN software or similar financial management tools Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required; Master's degree or CPA certification is preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions High level of integrity and trustworthiness, with the ability to handle sensitive financial information discretely and professionally Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritizing effectively to meet deadlines Strong knowledge of financial regulations and standards, ensuring compliance in all financial operations Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software applications.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
