Description We are offering a contract-to-hire employment opportunity for a Billing Clerk in the Waste, Refuse, and Environmental Waste Management industry, located in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to billing and customer service. Responsibilities: Accurately process customer payments and credit memos. Update client accounts with accurate billing and address information. Assist in resolving customer inquiries and troubleshooting issues in a timely manner. Provide backup phone support and track call-related information for auditing and reporting purposes. Generate, mail, and track collection letters and emails, ensuring all communication sent to customers is noted in their accounts. Conduct daily follow-ups to settle overdue accounts, ensuring that all received payments are allocated to the correct account and invoice. Review accounts for partial payments and work to establish payment arrangements for remaining balances. Place accounts on credit holds due to non-payment and forward all unresponsive accounts to management. Responsible for invoicing with a focus on Accounts Receivable and collections. Assist with additional special projects as needed.Requirements Must have a strong understanding of billing procedures and practices. Proficiency in handling approved invoices is required. Exceptional customer service skills are essential. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on meeting deadlines. Must have strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is necessary. Experience with billing software is preferred. Must be able to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive information. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team is essential. Must have problem-solving skills and the ability to handle customer inquiries and disputes professionally.
