Job DescriptionThe primary focus of a Field Service Technician II (F&S) is to install and repair security & fire systems for commercial, industrial, residential, and educational customers. This position installs systems and devices such as smoke and fire alarms, as well as video surveillance, motion detection, and temperature variation detection. This position requires daily travel to job sites within the Houston area and occasional overnight travel.JOB DUTIESEssential Duties· Assist sales with helping meet the needs of the customers· Review electrical and building requirements for proper fire & security equipment· Install, test, and demonstrate fire & security equipment· Diagnose and repair any fire & security equipment· Other duties, as assigned, within ability and responsibility of jobPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS· Construction field environment may require climbing stairs, standing, bending, and lifting· Ability to lift up to 100lbs and occasionally carry up to 45lbs, or a 12ft ladder· Must be able to work on lifts and laddersWORKING CONDITIONS· Office, production, and manufacturing shop environment· Periodic daily and/or overnight travel in the field may be required· Field environment; construction, water, and wastewater treatment plants· Safety equipment required; hard hats, boots, safety vests, and eye protective gear· Maybe required to work overtime as neededQUALIFICATIONSEducational/Experience Requirements· High school diploma or GED and vocational training in electrical/electronic installation and repair· Experience with CCTV, access control, intrusion systems, and Video Surveillance is requiredSpecial Skills, Knowledge, or Abilities· Install, troubleshoot, startup, and read electrical schematics, have good communication skills, strong work ethic, and prepared to interact with customers in a professional manner· Ability to distinguish colors (wires)LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS· Candidate must have a Texas valid drivers’ license and insurance· Maintain a security and fire alarm systems installer licenses through the State of TexasOTHER· Requires a good driving record, drug testing, and a clear background checkCONTACT WITH OTHERS· Daily significant interaction with supervisor and other co-workers.
