In this position, you will support wireless communication network architecture development and standardization in support of our NASA customers. The successful candidate will work with our NASA customers to research, design, develop, and integrate 5G/LTE and Wi-Fi networks across various projects supporting Extravehicular Activity and lunar architectures. This role will include deployment, analysis, and tuning of network hardware and software to evaluate performance characteristics as well as communication of the developed architecture and analysis results to other NASA organizations.
Required:

  • Demonstrated field experience deploying, configuring, operating, and analyzing standalone networks
  • Experience with AP/antenna selection, testing, and capacity analysis.
  • Expertise in 3GPP 4G/LTE, 5G, and IEEE 802.11 / Wi-Fi Alliance standards
  • Ability to develop detailed component specifications and design documentation
  • Experience with Linux tools and drivers
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills (written and verbal)
  • Bachelor or advanced degree in a related field with 3 or more years of experience
Desired:
  • Skills in offloading analysis, network planning
  • Experience in world-wide regulatory compliance of radio systems
  • Ability to excel in leadership positions.
  • Knowledge of spaceflight communication protocols, data handling, and testing architectures
Citizenship or lawful permanent resident required due to federal position.
