Description We are seeking a diligent Legal Assistant with a focus on Labor Law to join our team based in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will be expected to work independently, conducting thorough research and discovery, drafting eDiscovery materials, and preparing for depositions. The role also involves regular communication with an attorney located in Texas.Responsibilities: Work independently on active labor cases Conduct comprehensive independent research related to cases Carry out the discovery process in a meticulous manner Draft eDiscovery materials with attention to detail and accuracy Prepare succinct and effective questions for depositions Attend and contribute to depositions, potentially virtually Communicate regularly with an attorney based in Texas Utilize various case management software, such as LexisNexis and Microsoft Office Suites, for effective case management Handle complaint resolutions in a professional and timely manner Write legal documents and summaries with clarity and precision Maintain knowledge of labor law and apply it effectively to case work Manage and organize case documentation. Requirements Must hold a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant Proficiency in Case Management Software and LexisNexis is required Experience with Management System, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office Suites is essential Ability to handle Billing Functions, Briefing, Calendar Management, and Complaint Handling Strong capabilities in Documentation, Discovery, Ediscovery, and Legal Writing Experience in preparing Deposition Summary and Summary Reports Knowledge of Labor Law is a must Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and in a team Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to multitask effectively Bachelor's degree in Law or related field is preferred.
